WEBDOC "Understanding Externalities"

The first phase of the project consisted in analysing and studying the positive and negative externalities of our consumer society with "waste" as a working medium. This research was accompanied by an introduction to the professions of reuse and ecological transition through visits and workshops.

The objective of this phase was for the young participants to acquire knowledge on positive and negative externalities; the distinction between the different types of negative externalities: on ecosystems, on the economy, on human beings, on future generations...

They were also able to understand what alternatives offer in terms of : impacts on ecosystems, the economy, employment, the circular economy, the local dynamics of a territory, etc.

This implied learning more about the life cycle of a product in the circuit of reuse and creative upcycling, by comparing it to the life cycle of a product in the circuit of the traditional consumerist society.

Using all the contents accumulated and work produced by the participants, a WEBDOC was created to share information and to give the opportunity to other young people to learn about these subjects.
